Описание: The Trient Gorge was carved out of the Mont Blanc massif by the wild river of the same name. The 200-metre deep gorge is a paradise for both climbers and botanists.
The Trient River in Valais starts at the Trient Glacier on the Swiss side of Mont Blanc, near the border with France. Close to Vernayaz near Martigny, the Trient forms a narrow, deep and very impressive gorge, spanned by two bridges at dizzying heights. The Mont-Blanc Express also winds its way steeply up the Trienttal Valley towards Salvan, Les Marécottes, Le Châtelard and on to Chamonix.

A walk through the gorge only takes a little over 20 minutes. This means the route is also suitable for families with small children. The beginning of the gorge leads over bridges and a permanent boardwalk. Along the way you will find interesting information posted about the geology, fauna and history of the area. The end of the hike rewards you with an impressive view of the Rhone Valley and a stunning vista of the 114 metre Pissevache waterfall. in 1779 Goethe wrote: “At last we stood before the waterfall, which well deserves its fame above all others”.
