Just behind The Bridge of Sighs, the extremely narrow St. Helen's Passage takes us towards the Turf Tavern. Dating back to 1381, it has always been a popular spot for the great and the not so great to enjoy a drink and a smoke. Maybe less of the latter today.
It may be something of a lie to call it secret as it features in plenty of films shot and set in the city but it's very easily missed and many who have drunk there once have been unable to find it again in the light of sobriety.
