Описание: Jesus’ “transfiguration” or “metamorphosis” is a glimpse of a heavenly reality which momentarily breaks in upon our otherwise regular worldly realities. Moments of miraculous encounter such as Jesus’ transfiguration are not given as empty spectacle—where the ‘gazing’ becomes an end in and of itself)—but rather as empowering encounters which are meant to serve ‘return’ and mission to those people and places that need transformation. Hence the directive to “get off the mountain” and the folly of trying to “detain” the vision (as in Peter’s suggestion to build three tabernacles!). The other imperative essential to world transformation is “Listen to him.” Listen to Jesus.
