New data from Queensland Health has revealed the “disturbing extent” of the state’s health crisis, says Sky News host Caleb Bond.
Mr Bond said it includes a “historic worst” for ambulance ramping.
“On average, twenty-one ambulances were waiting outside Queensland’s overloaded emergency departments at any given hour in the three months to June,” he said.
Mr Bond said for the first half of 2023, over 85,000 hours of paramedic’s time was “wasted just waiting outside of busy hospitals”.
“Meanwhile, the majority of bush facilities in Queensland are operating with fewer doctors or nurses than 18 years ago, with 14 towns without a dedicated doctor in their local hospital,” he said.
Mr Bond was joined by Queensland’s Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates to discuss the health crisis in Queensland.
