Here's another set of clips from one of Led Kaapana's shows at Honey's at Ko`olau www.honeysrestauranthawaii.com this time from Saturday, May 21, 2016.
"Aloha `Ia No `O Maui" by Alice Johnson is a Maui travelogue, listing some of the beloved features of the Valley Isle. Led says that he learned the song from one of his uncles back in Kalapana days where it was that uncle's featured number.
Led recorded this tune on his "Ki Ho`alu" CD, unfortunately now out of print. The moderate tempo and simple but jazzy chord changes made it one of the first songs I figured out on my own "by ear" and Led and I play it together often when we jam.
Led is supported by his long time bass player, Jesse Gregorio Sr., who also provides sound reinforcement at the Honey's gig.
Video was shot with two Panasonic Lumix GH4 cameras, audio recorded using a Zoom H6 with a feed from Jesse's mixer and room sound from the XY mics. All editing was done in Edius 7.5.
