In March 2025, NL Young Farmers partnered with O'Brien Farm Foundation to host Young Farmer Forum at O'Brien Farm in St. John's. This full-day event focused on providing new entrants with knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities to support and nurture their success in a sustainable and profitable agriculture industry across Newfoundland and Labrador.
NL Young Farmers is funded by the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), a five-year (2023-2028), $3.5-billion agreement between the federal, provincial, and territorial governments to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation, and resiliency of Canada’s agriculture, agri‐food, and agri‐based products sector. This agreement includes $1 billion in federal programs and activities $2.5- billion in cost-shared programs and activities funded 60 per cent by the federal government and 40 per cent provincial/territorial governments for programs that are designed and delivered by provinces and territories. Sustainable CAP provides $230,000 annually to support NL Young Farmers activities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
