Описание: Welcome to Garachico, one of the most authentic and historic towns in the north of Tenerife.
In this walking tour, we explore Garachico from above the town, starting with a beautiful view of Roque de Garachico, the volcanic islet that stands just offshore as a reminder of the island’s dramatic past.

We then walk along the seaside promenade with the Atlantic Ocean on our right. The sea is powerful today, and although the weather is cooler than in the south of Tenerife, the atmosphere here feels raw, real, and deeply connected to nature.

Along the way, we reach the famous Piscinas Naturales El Caletón. Due to rougher Atlantic conditions and cooler winter temperatures, the natural pools are currently closed — a reminder that this is the ocean, not the Mediterranean, and it always deserves respect. Even so, the volcanic landscape, the colours of the water, and the bar inside the pools make this area fascinating to experience.

Continuing the walk, we arrive at Castillo de San Miguel, a historic fortress built to protect Garachico from pirate attacks. Nearby statues and monuments tell stories of love, loss, and resilience, including the Estatua de los Amantes, symbolising deep emotional ties to this land and its history.

We pass beneath the striking Tensei Tenmoku sculptures, where art and ocean meet, before heading back through the quieter inner streets of Garachico towards Plaza de la Libertad. Here, local life unfolds between small hotels, restaurants, and cafés.

In the square, we find the Church of Santa Ana and a stunning Christmas nativity scene still on display — beautifully crafted, larger than life, and full of character. Seeing it during the day makes you imagine how magical it must be at night when the lights are on.

We finish the walk by returning to the ocean, letting the sound of the Atlantic close this peaceful and reflective journey.

This is Garachico, far from mass tourism, shaped by volcanoes, history, and the sea — a perfect example of the true north of Tenerife.
