Puerto de la Cruz Walk 🌴 Mirador de la Paz, Lago Martiánez, Surfers & Green North Tenerife Views

Описание: Welcome to Puerto de la Cruz, one of the greenest and most authentic cities in the north of Tenerife.
In this walking tour, I start from the crossroads above Mirador de la Paz and make my way through panoramic viewpoints, restaurants, hidden paths, and down to the surfers’ beach by the ocean.

This part of Tenerife isn’t always known for warm weather, but today is a beautiful day. Palm trees line the streets, and the city feels open and relaxed. Unlike the south of the island, Puerto de la Cruz is surrounded by lush vegetation thanks to more frequent rain — something I personally enjoy, as it keeps the landscapes alive and vibrant.

From Mirador de la Paz, the view opens up over the surfers’ beach below and the impressive Lago Martiánez, an enormous complex of artificial seawater pools where you can swim, sunbathe, watch Atlantic waves crash against the rocks, and spend the whole day enjoying food and drinks inside the park.

Continuing along a lesser-known panoramic walkway, I pass restaurants, pubs, and beautiful hotels. Some of these hotels allow free access to their top floors, where anyone can sit at the panoramic bar and enjoy the view — a small hidden luxury not everyone knows about. This route is also perfect for jogging, thanks to its gentle slope and scenery.

Along the way, I pass Masamia, known for its excellent pizza, and a German-style pub where stopping for a beer with a view feels like a good idea. I also reach the Parish of San Amaro, one of the oldest churches in Puerto de la Cruz, quietly overlooking the city and closely linked to its maritime history.

The walk then returns towards Mirador de la Paz before descending the famous colourful stairs of Puerto de la Cruz, leading down to the surfers’ beach. Here, the sound of the ocean and the sight of surfers enjoying the waves make for a perfect ending.
