Suppositories are solid/semisolid dosage form of medicament for insertion into body cavities other than mouth.

Suppository Types:
Rectal Suppositories
Vaginal Suppositories (Pessaries)
Urethral Suppositories (Urethral Bougies)
Nasal suppositories (Nasal bougies)
Ear Cones (Aurinaria)

Suppository Base:

1. Oleagineous Base (Fatty Base): Cocca Butter (Theobroma oil), Synthetic fats, Hydrogenated palm kernal oil
2. Aqueous Base: Glycerinated gelatin (14% Gelatin + 70% Glycerin + H2O), Polyethylene glycol commonly known as Carbowaxes or Macrogols.
3. Emulsifying agent (Synthetic): Massa estarinum, Whitepsol, Massuppol
