In SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2, Episode 5b *Patty Hype**, the Krusty Krab has gone weeks without customers and Mr. Krabs is desperate for a new gimmick to bring everyone back. SpongeBob pitches his idea of **Pretty Patties* — Krabby Patties painted in bright colors — but Mr. Krabs and Squidward mock it at first. When SpongeBob sets up a stand with Patrick and the colorful patties become the hottest thing in Bikini Bottom, Mr. Krabs vows to steal the idea for himself. However, after customers demand refunds when the Pretty Patties mysteriously change their colors, the craze crashes and Mr. Krabs is left to face the consequences.
