Puss 'n' Boats is a 1966 Tom and Jerry animated short directed by Abe Levitow and produced by Chuck Jones. In this roughly 6-minute Metrocolor comedy, Jerry the mouse smells a crate of cheese being loaded onto a cargo ship and attempts to board it, but Tom the cat is on guard duty and tries to stop him at every turn. Their chase sends Tom flying off makeshift boards, into shark-infested waters, and even into the stratosphere via a high-pressure hose, all while classic slapstick antics unfold. The title is a play on the phrase “Puss in Boots,” and this short marks the first Tom and Jerry cartoon with music by Carl Brandt.
