𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟴 | 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗗𝗢 𝗜 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀?
𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲
Using your past pain as an excuse to harm others might feel justified, but it blocks your healing and passes the wound to the next generation. True healing begins when you stop using your hurt as a weapon and let God break the cycle.
𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀
𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗸 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁": 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻
Some people stay wounded because they believe their pain excuses their actions.
This mindset is exemplified by Lamek (Genesis 4), who killed a man and declared that if someone hurt him, he would retaliate even worse (77-fold).
The most dangerous person is not the one who simply gets angry, but the one who calmly believes their past scars entitle them to break others without remorse.
𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝘀. 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱:Your trauma, past experiences, and wounds explain why you react a certain way. Understanding this brings compassion and context.
𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀: This is when you use your pain as a "free pass" to avoid responsibility for the harm you cause others.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲: Your trauma explains your behavior, but it does not exempt you from accountability. No trauma gives you the right to traumatize others.
𝟯. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘆𝗲" 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟭: 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹; it’s about being proven right or getting revenge. It soothes the ego but leaves the wound open.
𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹; it’s about the wound closing so it no longer defines you.
You can win the argument or get revenge and still be a broken, dangerous person.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟮: 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺.
The law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7) applies to everyone. If you wrong someone back, you are now sharing the same evil.
If you retaliate, what goes around will come around to you as well.
The story of Adoni-Bezek (Judges 1) shows that what you do to others can and will be done to you.
𝟰. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲
The goal is not to be proven right, but to be made whole.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 "𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲": Let God be the avenger. The Bible says, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay" (Romans 12:19, referencing Luke 18). Crying out to God for justice releases you from the burden of retaliation.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Will you let the chain of pain break with you? Unhealed trauma is naturally transferred to the next generation unless someone decides to stop and pursue healing.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿: It starts with lifting your hand and saying, "Lord, I am hurting, but I don't want to hurt others. Heal me. Avenge me. Let the cycle stop with me."
