In 2025, during the closure phase at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP), workers disassembled and transported the Static Detonation Chamber units to other U.S. Army organizations for reuse, dispositioned surplus property, and collected and analyzed samples to verify decontamination of buildings for reuse or demolition. Watch this video to learn more about this significant year of closure progress at the facility in Colorado.
PCAPP was a state-of-the-art facility that safely destroyed the chemical weapons stockpile at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot (now known as the U.S. Army Chemical Materials Activity-West) in Pueblo, Colorado. For more project information and news, visit the PCAPP homepage on the Program Executive Office, Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (PEO ACWA) website: https://www.peoacwa.army.mil/pcapp
