In this video, you're going to learn how to teach online in 2020. I'm going to break down the three ways to do this, how to get started and market your own lessons, and how to scale.

There are three ways in which you can teach online: 1. Work for a company. 2. Freelance on teacher marketplaces. 3. Set this up yourself.

There are advantages and disadvantages to each. A good way to look at it is to think of the tradeoff between control and initial and ongoing effort.

Working for a company gives you little control over your teaching and earnings but you don't need to market yourself. Working for yourself gives you control over everything but there is extra work involved. The latter scales while the former doesn't.

Here is a simple plan to help you get started if you go independent:

1. Talk to an expert in your local area regarding setup and taxes
2. Create a simple landing page so that learners can book lessons with you (Calendly or Free Guide)
3. Send people to that landing page - your network and social media is a good place to start
4. Give a good trial lesson and convert trials to paying students
5. Send an invoice through PayPal

Three things to not worry about when getting started:

1. Getting lots of online lesson plans ready
2. Being fancy with what you do
3. Pricing - let this work itself out

And here is how to scale:

1. Offer online courses
2. Sell digital products
3. Offer feedback (speaking, writing, skills)
4. Advertising and sponsored posts on your channel or website
