Dear Brothers and Sisters,

For Christians, Easter Sunday is the holiest day of the year because it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.

In the past, Christians observed Jesus' resurrection on or around the Jewish Passover holiday. However, as a result of the adoption of various calendar systems over time, the dates of Passover and Easter have drifted apart, and we now observe Easter on the first Sunday following the full moon that occurs on or around the vernal equinox, which marks the start of Spring.

The details don't really matter. The importance of Easter, which was Jesus Christ's victory over death, is what matters. All who put their faith in Him are given everlasting life, which is symbolized by His resurrection.

Easter serves the goal of fully confirming everything that Jesus said and did during His three-year ministry. He would have been regarded as just another teacher or prophet if He had not either perished and been resurrected or simply died.

The fact that He rose from the dead, however, refuted all of that and gave definitive, indisputable evidence that He was the Son of God and had conquered death once and for all.

We observe Easter because it acknowledges that we can put an end to our old way of life and rise to a new existence in Christ. A death to self is a requirement of Christianity. But we have good reason to celebrate both the spiritual revival we have already experienced and the bodily resurrection we will soon witness.

No matter what occurs to us on this planet, we are completely confident that we will spend all of eternity with God in heaven. It makes sense why so many believers continue to exalt Jesus despite suffering persecution and death. because our optimism and promise are greater than those of this world.

In John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live"
