The Bangladesh Cricket Board had cited security concerns and proposed alternative arrangements, including hosting their group matches in Sri Lanka or swapping places with Ireland. However, the ICC dismissed all proposals, stressing that interest does not override agreed schedules and hosting commitments.

Following the ruling, Bangladesh has been given a 24-hour deadline to confirm whether it will participate in the tournament in India. If the BCB maintains its refusal to travel, Scotland is expected to step in as a replacement team.
