The Clothing Bargaining Council has called for tighter legislation in addressing fronting practices that it says undermine the country's labour laws. Officials from the council are forming part of a multi-disciplinary raid in KwaZulu-Natal by the Department of Employment and Labour following the discovery of the flouting of labour laws at some companies operating in the Textile industry. The accused companies have been found to have employees registered with the companies and Intellectual Commission CIPC as directors without their knowledge. One such company Tornstone Primary Work Cooperative Limited in Kwa Dukuza has been slapped with a compliance order.
