On Wednesday, suspended SAPS Deputy National Commissioner of Crime Detection, Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya, began his testimony at the Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System, known as the Madlanga Commission.
Day 1 of his testimony focused on his versions of the events that led to the disbandment of the KZN Political Killings Task Team in December 2024.
Sibiya also denied being friends with criminally accused Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala. To talk more on this, we are joined by Thabang Bogopa, Crime Researcher and Analyst.
