A major debate has erupted after former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir predicted that India national cricket team would not reach the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

However, India proved the prediction wrong by defeating England cricket team in the semi-final and securing a place in the final.

Former Indian cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Navjot Singh Sidhu strongly criticized Amir for his remarks. Kaif said such predictions are often made just to grab headlines and attention. He also reminded fans of Pakistan’s shocking defeat against United States national cricket team in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Sidhu also took a dig at Amir on social media, saying that matches are decided on the field, not by predictions.

In the semi-final match, India scored 253 runs, powered by a brilliant innings from Sanju Samson, while Jasprit Bumrah played a crucial role with the ball. Despite a century from Jacob Bethell, England fell short by 7 runs.

India will now face New Zealand national cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2026 Final on March 8.
