Mercedes S500 AMG Coupe - Full Review

Описание: The full review of the S500 AMG Coupe gives us a feel for the practicality of owning such a car. This car is aimed squarely at those individuals that want a car that can play the practical companion as well as looking stylish on both on the country roads and in Central London.

At ss8000cars we can confirm the car is practical, seats four in comfort and will take a decent amount of luggage for a week on holiday. Not cavernous in the rear but comfortable enough for six footers for longish journeys assuming breaks are taken every couple of hours or so. We also confirm that the Mercedes is a very stylish automobile. Perhaps because it is a Mercedes and people are not always familiar with the model not all heads are turned but those heads it does turn are always positive about the car. Nobody feels threatened and so let you in front of them quite often.

However where this car really shines is in its ability to take four in absolute comfort and near silence while travelling down the motorways of France at near to 85mph. It is I believe this total lack of noise, helped by the standard double glazed side windows, that allows you to emerge almost fresh from a long journey.

On the day this film was made my wife and I took the Mercedes North from London to visit Porsche at Leicester and then back to London afterwards all in the same day. A round trip well over over 200 miles and I have to say it was definitely the car of choice. At 70mph the AMG is so quiet you cannot hear the engine and the road noise is so muted you have to strain to hear it. Conversation then at such speeds, and speeds much higher I imagine, is a breeze. No raising of voices here!

So a Motorway Cruiser then. Absolutely this is where it was born to rule! One possible point of warning, and I doubt this will trouble potential users of this type of car, but on one journey down into deepest Sussex and through the leafy lanes I did find the car a tad large to be threading between other cars where space was at a premium. Somehow it seemed much larger than our X3 or was that my imagination. Maybe this was because in the X3 you are high up and can see around you with greater ease. The Mercedes is quite a low car.

Overall however a great car and we look forward to further adventures.
