Our Choice of Charger
We used the stock charger (Ryobi OP48RM) for the following reasons:
You get to use the existing charger wiring as-is, with zero modifications.
You retain the charger lockout capability, which prevents powering on the mower when plugged in.
The build quality of the ryobi charger is excellent compared to the aftermarket chargers.
Many people are using it and have reported no issues whatsoever.
There were good discussions in the forums on whether to use the stock charger, here is a sample:

Our Choice of Battery (DCHouse 48V 100Ah)
We chose to go with the DCHouse battery because of price and positive feedback in the group. It seemed to be a new arrival to this battery form factor and people in the group were speaking highly of its BMS/Bluetooth app. We chose 100 AH because we have a 1.25 acre plot and wanted to have more than enough coverage. Here is a great write-up on the DCHouse BMS:

Battery Meter
We chose not to add any battery meter (including the one that came with the battery). The Bluetooth app that came with the battery was more than enough for our purposes. At any time we can take out our phone and see a realtime summary of the state of our battery and we always have plenty of capacity for our yard.
Here is the manual to the Bluetooth app: https://tinyurl.com/2mjkdhyj
Overall Outcome
We love our newly upgraded mower, all of the changes are for the better. The main problem of the battery running low during use are now gone. The performance is better during the mow, it is faster and never bogs down on hills (and our yard has many). Now we charge it to 100% and then use it until it gets down to 20-30%, charge it over night and then unplug it after the charge is complete. In addition, we no longer have to keep it plugged in when not in use.
