I head into the Alaska backcountry in the dead of winter with no food, just a single stick of butter and whatever I can hunt or forage along the way. This trip isn’t about proving anything or pushing extremes for clicks. It’s about seeing what winter really demands when comfort is stripped away and decisions actually matter.
Traveling by snowmachine, setting up camp in the cold, and hunting ptarmigan and grouse, every choice carries weight—especially as daylight fades and energy drops. Whether I eat or not depends entirely on the land, the conditions, and a little luck.
This is a quiet look at winter survival in Alaska: cold hands, empty stomachs, simple calories, and the reality of being alone in a big place.
Thanks for watching.
