How to do Homeward Wrong Warp (with Fireball) on Nintendo Switch. This may also be the PTDE setup, but unsure.
Sorry for the quality of the video in general. I don’t have a mic (except the one built into the phone), and Switch Lite can’t be captured, so I’m just using my phone. I also didn’t have a script when doing this, so just kind of doing it as I go.
If you want a readable version, you can use what’s below. There are also some useful tips near the bottom.
Preparation:
Pyromancy Flame
Fireball pyromancy
Homeward miracle (don’t need the stats to use)
Where and When:
Andre’s Tower
After getting and placing Lordvessel.
Steps (after killing O&S):
1. Place Lordvessel.
2. Rest at Lordvessel (make sure your spells are equipped) and teleport to Undead Burg.
3. Equip your pyro flame. I find it best to use it in your left hand. Also equip one weapon in the right hand.
4. Go up the stairs until you get to the part where there is a long rectangular wooden board you walk on.
5. Get onto the railing going down towards the bonfire. What I usually do is I find the right spot for the camera so it won’t turn left or right when moving on the stairs, then I do the jump. For that I find the spot in the wall where there is a brick texture overlapping with the regular wall (near the top). Then I start at the bottom of that part of the stairs, run up until I reach the wooden floor, then turn around and jump towards the railing. You want to aim for the corner of the railing, but there is a little leeway depending on where you land. The last little railing is slippery, so try not to land there. Make sure when you do the jump that you turn it into a plunging attack or else you’ll just roll off. Also it seems easier if you do a plunging attack with your fist, not with a weapon equipped.
6. If you land successfully, inch your character to the little railing, and have your character near the top around a white part of the board.
7. Have homeward as your selected spell, and your pyromancy flame ready in your left hand (with nothing in your right).
8. For the first part, you have to press L1 and up on the d-pad at the same time.
9. Then after that you’ll press the button to switch your right weapon (right on the d-pad). I usually press it a little after you do step 8, and before your character twists their hand in the failed pyromancy animation.
10. Then you’ll walk off the railing and right as you land you’ll press L1 to cast “fireball”. If done successfully it should cast homeward, but as a “fireball”.
11. While casting, continue to move your character towards the bonfire and (without stopping to push your character forwards) spam B to rest at the Bonfire. After the loading time, you’ll end up at the Kiln, if done successfully.
Useful Notes:
Right as you press right on the d-pad to swap your right weapon (step 9), I start to move my character forwards to fall off the railing towards the bonfire. Then (without letting go) I do the rest of the steps. It may be possible with letting go, but it always seems to work without letting go (if you time it right).
You want to continue to walk into the bonfire even when your right on it, as if you closely look after doing fireball, pushing the joystick to move throughout the animation will make the Rest at Bonfire popup show quicker than if you don’t move.
Pressing L1 at the right time can be made a little easier if you spam it while falling off the railing. Spamming it can be done by either just using your left hand or my method. I take my right hand off the controller and use my pointer finger to spam L1. However you can spam L1 can work, but if you don’t feel confident/you are fast enough, you can just go back to timing it as you fall.
