We’re officially 18 weeks out from race day at Ironman Cairns, and the work is starting to stack up. The fitness is building, the sessions are getting more specific, and the focus now is on smart, controlled progression — durability over ego.
From injury and setbacks to rebuilding consistency, this campaign has been about doing the basics exceptionally well. Aerobic control. Strong execution. Discipline on the bike to protect the run. One week at a time.
At 57, I’m not just training to finish — I’m training to compete. The goal is clear, and the next 18 weeks are about sharpening the blade.
