In anxious and avoidant attachment dynamics, accountability becomes a nervous system battle. Anxious partners often need quick apologies and reassurance to feel safe and regulated. But when avoidants are emotionally flooded, their brain shifts into survival mode.. making reflection, empathy, and accountability neurologically harder in the moment.
