Special Chicken Biryani using Shan Masala | Best and Unique Pakistani Biryani Recipe in Urdu Hindi

I am presenting my very special chicken biryani recipe which I have perfected over the years and is very close to my heart. I have made this chicken biryani in dawats, family dinners, and parties and always received excellent feedback and compliments about how good this biryani turns out.

In this easy to follow recipe I mix a bit of Shan Bombay and Sindhi biryani masala which brings a unique flavour to the biryani and makes it slightly more spicy.

Ingredients:
1 kg extra-long basmati rice
1-1.5 kg chicken cut in curry pieces
1 tomato can or puree of 4 tomatoes
3 sliced onions
2 potatoes
1 lemon
1 cup yoghurt
1 tsp each of ginger and garlic paste

Whole spices:
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp (put half of this in boiling water for rice, half in chicken masala)
black peppers - 6 (3 in boiling water for rice, 3-4 in chicken masala)
cloves - 6 (3 in boiling water for rice , 3 in chicken masala)
cinnamon stick - 2 (1 in boiling water for rice , 1 in chicken masala)
black cardamom - 2 (1 in boiling water for rice , 1 in chicken masala)
bay leaf - 1 in boiling water for rice
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
2-3 tbsp Shan Bombay biryani masala
2-3 tbsp Shan Sindhi biryani masala
