Welcome to week 5 of my 5-week Surf Fitness Challenge.
The FINAL WEEK of an incredible surf fitness challenge with you all! Thank you for being a apart of it and achieving your goals!
This week's surf fitness workout is aimed at improving your core strength strength and endurance. Having a strong core does not equal visible abs but this is is another topic for another time. Having a strong core is vital for your surfing performance but also helps prevent those nasty little back injuries. So...let's jump straight into this weeks workout.
We will be working through a series of 10 exercises. Each exercise is to be performed for 1 minute and there are no breaks in between each exercise.
MODIFICATION: If you are not able to work for 1 minute per exercise, please adjust your working and resting times according to your level. As long as they fit into 1 minute (eg - 40 seconds on and 20 seconds rest or 30 seconds on and 30 seconds rest...you get the idea) you will still be benefiting from this workout.
VERY IMPORTANT* - When performing exercises that require you to lie on your back, please check in with your lower back and make sure it is pushed into the floor and remains in contact with the ground during all reps. Draw your belly button towards your spine to engage your core so you ensure you are working from the right area.
Time under tension is what we are working towards so that you are able to improve your endurance and strength, which are key factors for us surfers!
The goal is to complete this workout once a day for week 5 .
