Should you breathe in through nose or mouth?
Do what feels comfortable and relaxing to you, but here's how a lot of people like to do it:
• Breathe in softly through your nose
• Breathe out through your mouth through pursed lips, like you are blowing out candles on a birthday cake. This makes it easier to exhale slowly and smoothly.
• Or you can just breathe in and out through your nose if that feels comfortable to you
Try to breathe with your diaphragm. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly. As you inhale, try to keep your chest still and feel your belly gently rise under your hand. This means your diaphragm is doing the work. Then exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your belly fall. The hand on your chest should stay mostly still the whole time.
