Description

This is a step-by-step guide/tutorial to making a lightweight staff which is separatable. Basically, you can take it apart, and it makes it so much easier. Having the option to detach the staff makes it so you can transport it in a car or in a suitcase. I did the latter when I went to Blizzcon! Suitcase all the way babyyyyy.

The staff I'm making here is specifically for Jaina Proudmoore (from World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone). But the general principles apply to all staffs you're making like this!

I go over the supplies needed (PVC, glue, heat gun), how to put it all together, and how I did each step. The painting process is glossed over because it was basically just a spray paint with some highlights/shadowing from the , and how to wire up the LEDs. I really hope it's helpful. When I was first making this, I had in mind beginners to cosplay-- so hopefully, if you're a beginner, this is just what you needed.

You do NOT need to use worbla or a thermoplastic. I use it because I wanted it to be extra sturdy. You can just use craft foam (I used some from Michael's).

Either take this as exactly what you need as a tutorial for Jaina's staff, or as a general help guideline for making staffs in general. May your wizard staffs be light and transportable! magic
