This practice is applicable to proactive injury prevention as well as post-injury movement. However, if you are coming from recent injury, accident or surgery, I encourage you to seek advice from your medical professional before participation, to make sure this activity is appropriate for your stage of healing.
This is a slow, purposeful practice to address multiple planes of spinal movement. Yin Yoga techniques, with long postural holds will be our method, rather than more active mobility or flexibility work. In this way, we will nourish connective tissues surrounding our muscles & joints. With relaxed breath, we will help calm the bodymind of tensions & holds as a result of the trauma of accident or injury. This will enable the body to face deeper strength & flexibilty with more ease.
This is a short format class. On replay, feel free to pause the video during any posture, if your body finds it needs more time.
