Operation Power Flite began on January 16, 1957. Three B-52Bs circled the globe in 45 hours and 18 minutes, cutting the previous record set by B-50 "Lucky Lady II" in 1949 by more than half. Pima Air and Space Museum has three B-52s on display (B-52A "The High and Mighty One" 52-0003, B-52D "Lone Star Lady" 55-0067, B-52G "Valkyrie" 58-0183) as well as the type of aircraft used to refill the B-52s of Operation Power Flite, the KC-97 (53-0151).
