Описание: Medical device-derived biomarkers are a promising area in the process of R&D digitization. Those biomarkers are patient-generated physiological and behavioral measures collected with connected digital devices such as wearables. They allow scientists to collect information, e.g. on the safety and efficacy of treatments in clinical studies, earlier and more comprehensively. Frank Kramer, Director Biomarker Strategist at Bayer: "In the REALIsM-HF study, we use high-tech sensor patches in heart failure patients that allow continuous monitoring of their physical activity and vital medical parameters. These parameters and their development in the course of the trial support us in assessing the health condition of a patient and evaluating the efficacy of the new active substance."
