Описание: An absolute gem of the choral repertoire, and the recorder choir repertoire as well, it makes one wish that Holst had written a Magnificat setting as well. The opening has always seemed like stars coming out at night, one by one (if they made a sound, of course), and from there it gets beautifully post-Romantic with lush harmonies. Then at the end there's that one LONG top A for the first sopranos, much easier on a soprano recorder.
