Описание: These are two untexted "chansons" by Josquin Desprez, one of the greatest of the Franco-Flemish composers of the Renaissance. Both are played on wider bore recorders which have a softer-edged sound than their Baroque counterparts, particularly the top voice which is an alto. A teacher of mine used to explain it as "Renaissance instruments are built to blend; Baroque instruments are built to be soloists" and though there are certainly exceptions in both case, she wasn't wrong in principle.
