Rotation Engineering did not make the T47 flange thicker by accident.
By flattening the back of the cup and adding about 0.020 inch of material, they built a stiffer flange that can handle a 50 Nm torque load and still clear narrow crank arms. That extra thickness gives more tool purchase and helps prevent the interface from rounding during installs and removals.
This Short was filmed at NBX Bikes, the official shop partner of It’s Just A Hill. Rotation Engineering is a sponsor of the IJAH club, bringing motorsports level engineering to everyday riders who care about smooth, reliable drivetrain performance.
