This week’s recipe is for an early 1920s liquid face powder. I thought for a change it might be interesting to show you a recipe that didn’t quite work and then how I fixed it. This is a fairly simple recipe to play around with, so feel free to do your own experiments with it if you want!
PS: I’m still getting used to my new step-up, so apologizes for any visual/audio issues. I should have a better handle on everything by next time I film!

RECIPE NOTES
• This powder has a light rose scent but it can also be perfumed. Try adding a few drops of lavender or other skin-friendly oil.
• Changes to the original formula include adding a preservative (the original doesn’t use one but I’ve had similar mixtures go moldy very quickly, so I’ve included one for your safety) and adding more colour options.
• Carmine is the original colourant of choice, but feel free to play around with any skin-safe powdered pigment.
• A one ounce bottle works well for this product. I prefer an eyedropper bottle as it makes it easier to apply the right amount of product.
~If you want to create a different tint, see this video on how to customize this powder for any skintone: • How to Tint Historical Face Powders for Di... (the video is for dry powders, but should also be applicable for this liquid recipe)
