This historical eyeliner recipe is fantastic! It wears beautifully and doesn't irritate my eyes like some store-bought "natural" liquid eyeliners. I've been using it constantly for the last 2 weeks and can confidently say: I'm in love!

RECIPE NOTES
-This recipe is originally from a 1917 copy of Hygiene of the Face.
-I forgot the text for the Optiphen amount, but in case anyone missed it: I used 0.02 grams of my preservative. If you use a different preservative type, the amount may vary (see the individual usage recommendations for your preservative).
-For a more modern, fun coloured eyeliner, you can use a different shade of (eye-safe) iron oxide or an ultramarine in place of the black. I've also tried this recipe with mica but it was too sheer to function as a proper eyeliner.
-Distilled water will work in place of the rose water.
-With this sort of product, it is recommended to leave the lid off the container for a bit (after applying) in order to let it dry out again.
