One from our grandma's recipes. #MorKuzhambu is a popular and traditional South Indian veg curry recipe that can be made in just under 30 minutes. Mor Kuzhambu is prepared with aromatic spices and curd. In Andhra Cuisine it is also known as #MajjigaPulusu. This easy to prepare curry tastes great with Hot Rice and Potato Fry. #MorKuzhambuRecipe :
Curd - 1 cup
To Soak and Grind:
Toor Dal - 1 tsp
Raw Rice - ½ tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 2 tsp
Grated Coconut - ¼ Cup
Green Chilli - 3 nos
Water - 6 tbsp
Other Ingredients:
Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
Curry leaves - 10 nos
Lady Finger (chopped) - ½ Cup
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Salt - ¾ tsp
Water - 1 ½ Cups
For Tempering:
Coconut Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - ½ tsp
Dried Red Chilli - 1 no
Curry Leaves - 5 nos
Asafoetida - A pinch
Cooking Instructions:
1. Soak the toor dal, raw rice, cumin seeds, coriander seeds in 6 tbsp of water for 15 mins.
2. Beat the curd into a smooth texture without any lumps.
3. In a mixer grinder, add the soaked ingredients along with the water, grated coconut, Green Chilli, and grind it into a smooth paste.
4. Heat oil in a kadai, add ladies finger, curry leaves and saute for 3 mins.
5. Add turmeric powder, water, ground paste, curd, salt and simmer for 5 mins.
6. Heat oil in another pan, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
7. Add dried red chilli, curry leaves, a pinch of asafoetida and add this tempering to the curry.
8. Serve it hot with steam rice.
