In July 2025 youth ages 13-25 from Churchill and York Factory met to initiate an inter-community youth council, receive mentorship and build relationships at the annual Northern Youth Leadership Summit in Churchill, MB.
Programming included a caribou hunt, songwriting workshops, games and activities, and a community design workshop. All of these opportunities allowed the youth to dream of a shared future for their communities, and lay a foundation to achieve their goals.
The Northern Youth Summit is an annual initiative led by the Churchill Health Centre to build healthy communities through art, culture, sport and connection.
