Shaped by early agricultural experiences and pesticide poisoning, Prof. Higa developed Effective Microorganisms (EM) in 1980 by combining lactic acid bacteria, yeast, and phototrophic bacteria.
His book “An Earth Saving Revolution” sparked a global movement in sustainable agriculture, environmental purification, and health applications.
