The 6 bells form a very pleasant ring of 6 having been rehung in 1966 by John Taylor and Co.
The bells hang in a 2 tier frame with the 4th hung above in a very unusual shaped tower. The bells handle well and are well maintained by the tower captain and his son. They are, however slightly odd struck, and although you can hear them, you can't hear the strike notes, which can have you thinking you might not be ringing as well as you might think.
The village of St Dominick is situated about 10 miles NW of Plymouth in East Cornwall and lies in an area close to the River Tamar with beautiful undulating countryside.
The bells were all cast by John Pennington in 1773, the 5th was found to be cracked in 2015 and was removed and taken to Soundweld, it was then lightly tuned and returned to the tower. The weights are as follows - Treble - 4-0-0 in E, 2nd - 4-0-20 in D, 3rd - 4-1-18 in C, 4th - 5-0-6 in B, 5th - 5-3-7 in A and Tenor - 8-0-19 in G.
In this video you can hear the bells being rung to part of the Devon call change peal (60 on 3rd's) from outside, with bird song in the background.
