Gsür 2708m – The Watcher Above Adelboden | Alpine Ridge Hike in the Bernese Alps

Описание: Gsür (2708m) is a stunning and less-visited summit located high above Adelboden in the Bernese Alps — often called “Der Bergwächter hoch über Adelboden” (“The mountain guardian above Adelboden”).

We started our route from Tschentenalp, following the visible but unmarked alpine trail to the summit in about 2 hours 30 minutes. The route is classified as T5, with a scrambling section in the gully (Rinne) just below the ridge — wearing a helmet is highly recommended! The rocks here are loose and there is a risk of falling stones.

The final ridge to the summit of Gsür is short but very exposed (UIAA II). The most difficult section is equipped with a fixed rope, but when we did the hike (August 2020), it was damaged — so caution is needed. Despite that, the climb is enjoyable and doable without the rope for experienced hikers.

Gsür is an excellent choice if you want something more adventurous and less crowded than its neighbour, Albristhorn — which is technically easier but much longer and busier in summer.
