Tomorrow, Monday 7th October marks two weeks since Thomas Cook ceased trading and went into administration. Over the past 14 days operation matterhorn has been in full swing, with the CAA operation repatriating over 140,000 Thomas Cook customers from across Europe and America.
This operation involved numerous airlines and aircraft over a two week period. With Manchester being a key base for Thomas Cook, the airport has seen a vast variety of repatriation flights. These flights have been operated by numerous airlines including Wamos Air, Evelop, Omni Air, Hifly, and Malaysian Airlines just to a name a few.
The repatriation operation back to Manchester enlisted the aid of two A380's over the two week period. A Malaysian Airlines A380 in addition to a HiFly A380. This is just two of the vast array of aircraft used in the operation. From 747's, to A330's and A340's.
We've tried to highlight the majority of the aircraft that have been operating in and out of Manchester for the last two weeks.
Enjoy!
