1 Replacing SHP Bias Potentiometer part 1 of 2

The next videos show the replacement 100 ohm 3296 Cermet Trimmer Potentiometers aka Trim Pots. I cover how the 3296 trim pot works as a variable resistor and show the inner workings. Then installing the new pots on the SHP Chassis.

If you own a Digital Era Seeburg Jukebox then you have a SHP1 or SHP3 Amplifier. Just recapping the amp is only the first part of rebuilding this 40 year old amplifier. Having the correct Bias settings is important for great sound and the safety of the transistors. It is difficult to correctly adjust Bias when the original Bias Potentiometer is faulty.

I reference the Seeburg SHP Amplifier Operation and Troubleshooting Guide by Tony Miller (who was an expert). This guide is what made me aware of the problem. You should invest in a copy before working on a SHP. It is only $19.95 from AlwaysjukinDotCom.

Lastly - Be careful or you will fry something on the amp or shock the bejeebers out of yourself. The SHP is a complex amplifier so buy and read Tony Miller's guide.
