The NPC's that inhabit the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 are extremely detailed and live lives depending on the region that they inhabit. For example an NPC in the town of Valentine will be taking care of cattle and visiting a saloon at night while an NPC in Rhodes will be working on the cotton mill and going to visit his family at the end of the work shift. Both jobs are unique and have their own animations which really just shows how much attention that Rock star has put into this game. If you are interested I do have videos on both of the kind of NPC's on my channel following their day in the life.
This video goes out and shows you all of the detail that all the NPC's do when you are interacting with them. For example when out adventuring, an NPC can tell you how dirty your clothes are and that you need to get cleaned up. If you commit crimes in any of the towns previously, the NPC's will remember that and give you nasty comments. This depends on if you went on shootouts and have low honor. One time I went into the general store in Valentine and saw that the owner had bandages wrapped around his head. He looked at me and quickly told me to find what I was looking for and to get out. The thing was about three days ago I robbed the place and knocked him out with the butt of my gun so he wouldn't be a witness. Turns out he "remembers" the event. I'm still surprised he was even still serving me to be honest.

NPC's will also have random conversations and about all sorts of topics ranging from a lawmen that got kicked in the head to a man that got a women pregnant in San Denis. Rock star spent lots of time making all the dialogue in this game varied and interesting while making the world feel alive. NPC's also go out and defend women NPC's from abuse, stepping to their aide to stop the player from harassing them; while with men, the NPC's will simply ignore them and let them fall to the mercy of the player. Some NPC's even go out and defuse the situation! This really is a unique Easter egg that makes the game so immersive, it's the little details like these that really make all the difference.

What really surprised me was the NPC reactions when you go and draw your weapon. Many of the NPC's give comments of disgust or they try and defuse the situation. The wealthy NPC often try and calm you down while the ranchers and cowboys often begin to threaten you into shooting. This often leads to to shoot them because they provoked me. If you pull out your weapon out at a lawmen they will often threatin you to put the gun away. If you ignore them then they will give you a warning yo start walking away or they will begin shooting.

I also saw that the NPC's also react to the weather. When it begins to rain, the npc often stop what they are doing and start heading home to do their "nightly activities". When the sun comes back out, the NPC then resume their day activities. The same thing applies to all the NPC's on horseback. As it begins to rain, the npcs begin to ride faster and faster trying to get to their destination faster. Some NPC's also go and seek cover hiding under trees and houses.

One of the coolest things about this game though was the fact that RDR2 NPC's can remember your past actions through events. When I saw a man on the side of the road and took the venom out of his leg and he thanked me and went on his way. I never expected to see that man again, but two weeks of in game days later he remembers me and offers to pay for any item in the shop I was about to go in. I just casually saw him sitting in a bench minding his own business. Pretty Cool easter egg if you ask me. It's all the little easter eggs and secrets that really make this game amazing.

I am planning on making another video on the lawmen of Red Dead Redemption 2 and all the cool secrets they have to if interested feel free to like and subscribe for more content. It will show everything from duels to the way they interact with the environment around them. I am also thinking about making a video about the animals of Red Dead Redemption and how they interact with the environment and other NPC's. Sorta like a NPC vs NPC battle. A duel of sorts.
