There is but little information available about this composer, who was most probably German, but who could have been Dutch. In any case, it seems he did live in Holland for a number of years. Around 1788, a sonata by Tübel appeared in a London publication entitled “The Feast of Apollo”, a series of music scores that contained solo harpsichord (or piano) works along with songs, by a variety of composers. Tübel himself had died in 1776, thus he never saw this publication. While not an extremely remarkable work, it certainly does have its charm!
