the major losses in a transformer are
1. core loss or iron loss
2. copper loss in the primary and secondary windings.
In addition there will be dielectric loss due to the dieclectric medium in the transformer like transformer oil
stray losses- due to the leakage flux
core loss is composed of hysteresis loss and eddy current loss.
core loss is called constant loss
copper loss depends on the load and it is called variable loss
