Ben Fitton's Phantom of the Opera is a loving homage to the classic novel by Gaston Leroux, as well as a tribute to every Phantom of the Opera adaptation that has come before. We release this film in 2025 as a special celebration of the Lon Chaney 1925 original, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
This indie film is an attempt to adapt the original novel as closely as possible on a low budget. All the actors and crew were volunteers who put a lot of time and effort into this project, and the film was funded with our own money, with the single goal of creating a singularly unique piece of Phantom history and a close representation of Leroux's original story.
This new independent film is a labor of love, 10 long years in the making. Made by a Phantom Phan for Phans of the novel, the dozens of film adaptations and even the musical.
Special thanks to former Phantom and fellow filmmaker Anthony D.P. Mann for making a special appearance in the film. Also special thanks to Paramount Bristol for the use of their beautiful theatre.
