Today on this 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan were going to install part number C13362 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the van. Next well go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 12 inches, and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be three and a quarter inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove the rear most bumper bracket bolt from the bottom of the vehicle.

This will be the bolt thats closest to the bumper. Its a good idea to break this loose by hand because these bolts can break if you use an impact wrench. Now we can go ahead and start installing our hardware. Between the two bolts for the bumper bracket is an oval slot. Well fish wire the hardware into that oval hole.

Well take the fish wire, push it in through the oval hole and out towards the bumper. Theres a plastic tab in the bumper bracket that you have to feel around to get the bolt leader out. Well go ahead and thread in the 1 x 2 block, push it into the frame and then thread on our bolt. Then well pull our frame and bolt through. Now well go further up the frame and there will be another bolt hole that we can use for our hitch.

Well go ahead and repeat the same process. Were done with the passengers side. Well go ahead and repeat the same process over on the drivers side. A good way to identify the holes on the vehicle is to hold up the hitch to the frame to make sure everything lines up correctly. On this vehicle this will be the attachment points that well use.

All right, with all our hardware installed we can go ahead and lift the hitch up into position. Be careful not to push the bolts up into the frame, and well install the phalange nuts on the bottom of the bolts. Then well go ahead and install a new 12 mm bolt and a conical tooth washer into the threaded hole thats closest to the bumper. Well make sure that the conical tooth washer has teeth pointing toward the hitch. With all our hardware loosely installed, now we can go ahead and tighten down the hardware and torque them down as specified in the instructions. With that, that will finish it for our install of part number C13362 from Curt on our 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan.
