How to make White Upma

Try my quick & easy Upma recipe! It's a South Indian fave that's ready in no time. Enjoy it with a sprinkle of grated coconut or a avakai.

Ingredients:
1 cup of rava
2.5 cups of water
2 tablespoons ghee
1 onion
1 green chilli
1 stick of curry leaves
1 tablespoon of a mixture of Channa Dal, Urad Dal, and Mustard Seeds
2 tablespoons cashew nuts
1/4th lemon (optional)
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Heat ghee in a kadai and add the mixture of dals and cashew nuts. Let them turn brownish.
2. Now, add chopped onion, green chillies, and curry leaves. Cook them on medium flame until the onion becomes translucent.
3. Add rock salt and rava, then increase the flame. Let the rava turn golden brown.
4. Pour water into the kadai, cover it with a lid, and let it cook.
5. Finally, switch off the gas and squeeze half a lemon into the kadai (optional).
Enjoy your delicious White Upma.
